Bruce
B. Miller II
Senior Pastor
McKinney Fellowship Bible Church, McKinney, Texas
Chairman, Board of Directors
Center for Church Based Training
Brief Introductory Biography
“In remembering
my history and anticipating my future I thank God for what He has
done by his power and trust myself into His hands for the future.
All my plans I submit to the will of God knowing I only live because
of Him.” These thoughts have directed the commitment and direction
of Bruce Miller’s life.
Bruce accepted
Christ at the age of 5, and by the first grade decided to give all
his (allowance) money to the Billy Graham ministry! During his elementary
school years he prayed consistently for wisdom and was involved
in Bible studies and memorizing Scripture. By high school he was
involved in an in-depth study of Proverbs, starting a Christian
group on campus, and actively witnessing for Jesus Christ.
He graduated
Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin,
a Th.M from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1986, and is currently
completing his dissertation for a Ph.D. at the University of Texas
at Dallas.
He has been
involved in the Fellowship Bible Church (FBC) movement since 1972
when his father helped found the first Fellowship Bible Church.
In 1982 he served as the first intern at Fellowship Bible Church
North (FBCN) shortly after that church started. After graduating
from Dallas Seminary in 1986, he joined the pastoral staff of FBCN
as Pastor of the College Ministry, and the staff of the center for
Church Renewal as a Church Planter. He served as the Church planting
pastor of Community Bible Church in Van Alstyne, Texas.
Bruce taught
in the Systematic Theology Department at Dallas Theological Seminary
for four years. He has presented and published theological articles
and is active in professional theological societies.
Bruce has served
at FBCN as Pastor of Leadership Development, Director of the Intern
Ministry, Director of the Church-Based Training, and Supervisory
Pastor for a team of other pastors.
Most recently
he has committed to being the Senior Pastor of FBCN’s new
church plant north of Plano in the Allen, McKinney, and Frisco area.
Bruce is an
international speaker, speaking at leadership conferences in Austria,
Germany, New Zealand, and Nigeria, to name a few. He is editor of
the international church-based training newsletter, The Networker,
and is actively involved in writing courses used to train leaders
for the Lord’s service. His passion is developing leaders
equipped to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and plant churches
around the world.
Bruce
and his wife, Tamara, have five children—4 boys and 1 girl
(Bart, Jimmy, David, Melanie, and Ben). They are actively involved
in strengthening marriages and families in Christ. |
