How Mature Do Elders Need to Be?

Paul clearly writes in 1 Timothy and Titus about the character qualities that are needed to be an elder in the church. Church leaders are encouraged to evaluate their own character in light of the biblical qualities for elders and to identify ways to further cultivate these godly character qualities. This issue provides a framework for the selection of church elders and elder teams may use this to help evaluate the suitability of future elder candidates.
