Calvin J. Knox, Jr.
Ministry Advancement

Calvin serves CCBT in the area of Ministry Advancement by providing administrative support in donor development and operations. This role utilizes skills obtained during his 8 year tenure with CCBT and 26 years of prior business and lay ministry experience.

Before joining our team in 1999, Calvin lived in Des Moines, Iowa where he grew up and graduated from Drake University with a Business Administration degree in Accounting. That training led to 7 years of employment with the Internal Revenue Service and 19 years with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

In addition to public service, church ministry has been a significant part of Calvin’s life since his youth. His lay ministry involvement usually led to leadership roles including: Deacon, Trustee Board Chairman, Christian Education Director, Executive & Advisory Board Coordinator and Church Administrator. His desire to grow and help churches operate with focus and efficiency led to post graduate studies at Faith Bible College, Trinity Baptist College, Western Conservative Baptist Seminary, and Dallas Theological Seminary.

Calvin and his wife LaVette reside in Wylie, Texas with their 3 home schooled children. They attend Chase Oaks Church (formerly Fellowship Bible Church North). His church service includes Life Group support and teaching\developing a biblical stewardship ministry. Calvin’s life focus is to faithfully serve in the home, workplace, church and community to make a Kingdom impact for Christ’s glory.
