The Center for Church Based Training hosted the “Churches Training Leaders” conference at Fellowship Bible Church North, in Plano, Texas, from May 25 - 27, 2004.

We at CCBT were blessed by everyone that attended. There was such an air of anticipation and excitement for the opportunity to learn and engage relationally with people from across the world and from our own backyard. We have heard from many of the attendees and everyone is excited about the wealth of information they received. If you were not there, we missed you!! Here's what happened:

"CCBT has a clear vision and mission, and your conference stayed on message. Keep it up! The church at large needs to keep hearing that drumbeat until we start believing it truly is our responsibility and start doing something to change the status quo." "I found meeting other pastors and church leaders in the context of the conference very rewarding. Your hospitality was genuine and I really appreciated the openness of your staff in their sharing." "I will keep pushing myself to place discipleship and training leaders at the core of what I do and on the top of the agenda for our major leadership bodies. I will quit saying this is a great biblical philosophy of ministry and actually start with a group and begin doing it." "My objectives were to learn what others are doing in areas of spiritual growth and leadership, associate with fellow Christians in churches from different states and countries and have a great time socializing and getting to know others personally. All these things were met."

Through a series of General Sessions and Breakout Seminars, pastors and ministry leaders were presented with principles of effective church leadership. They were encouraged to take the principles presented and examine their own personal ministry goals as well as those of their ministry team. They were also exposed to some of the best tools available in the areas of discipleship training and leadership development. Finally, they were encouraged to develop a ministry plan that embodies biblical principles and reflects a unity and greater sense of purpose, which should result in more effective ministry through qualified people.

The Center for Church Based Training is committed to assisting church leaders become more effective in the training and development of the people entrusted to their care.
